Christmas Clearance Madness at CVS and Rite Aid!

One of my New Year's resolutions was to cut down on clutter, mainly by cutting back on couponing and buying stuff I don't need. That worked great until yesterday, when I discovered that both Rite Aid and CVS had all of their Christmas stuff marked down 75%! So between yesterday and today (and several trips to multiple stores) I saved almost $600! Here's how I justified it: I bought gifts for Grace's little friends, knowing that if I didn't get them on clearance now, I'd just pay way more right around the actual birthday. I also bought gifts for Grace for her birthday in June (the easel and train table), a few toys for now which should keep her occupied at home during the coming cold months when our options for staying busy are limited (the playhouse and tent) and a few toys to keep Grace occupied for an upcoming trip to London and LA that we are planning (DVD player, laptop and foam toys). Now I have to find out where we are going to store everything! Here's what I purchased:

Great Deal on Sesame Place "A Very Furry Christmas" Tickets

 

  For the next three days only, Groupon is offering 2 tickets to Sesame Place for the "Very Furry Christmas" events for only $22! For larger families, you can buy three tickets for $33 and four tickets for $44. Plus, children under two are always free at Sesame Place! These tickest are valued at $21.99 a piece. Please note that these tickets are only valid for the month of December and expire on December 31.

Apparently I'm not the only one thinking this is a fantastic deal as 5,000 people have already purchased it. Sesame Place's website details all of the great Christmas events they are having each day, including meeting Sanata, a Christmas parade, several Christmas shows, and Christmas shopping!

 The deal gets better, though. If you shop through Ebates, you will get 3% cash back. Plus, if you are new to Ebates and you sign up, you will get a $10 gift card from Target, Home Depot, or Barnes & Nobles after you make your first purchase through their site. How does Ebates work? It's a great way to save extra cash on purchases. In fact, I often shop in the store to find what I like that fits well, then I go home and order through Ebates to get the extra percentage of cash back.

Target Anounces New Price Match Policy for the Holidays!

Great news! Target announced today that they will price match online retailers Amazon, BabiesRUs, Best Buy, ToysRUs and Wal-Mart. Additionally, they will match their own prices on Target.com. The price matching of identical items on the online retailers websites will only be temporary, as the price matching policy is only in effect from November 1 to December 16 (sorry last minute holiday shoppers!). Target and Wal-Mart already have price match policies for local retailers, but prior to this announcement neither matched online prices. The issue with matching local retailers has always been that it is up to each particular store to determine what is considered a "local" ad (a store 5 miles away? 10 miles away?).
